I love having a clean and organized home...matter of fact, I am pretty passionate about it! Some people would call me a 'clean and neat' freak and others would just call me plain crazy, but I absolutely love to clean my home! I take great pride in keeping a nice home for my family and I love to show it off when guests arrive.

Recently I had a total hip replacement surgery and doing my day-to-day cleaning tasks have become a real big challenge for me. I was sent a Swiffer Sweeper 2-in-1 Sweeping & Mopping Starter Kit to try out for all of you. I just love reviewing cleaning products, especially ones that make my life easier.

The Swiffer Sweeping & Mopping Starter Kit includes:

* 1 Sweeper
* 2 Dry Refills
* 1 Wet Refill

The dry cloth traps & locks in dirt which is good for dry mopping and sweeping. The wet cloth traps & locks in dirt deep into the cloth and is for your wet mopping to clean your floors. What is really cool is that those dry cloths leave floors up to 3X cleaner due to the way it traps & locks in dirt. I am all for that as I hate using a regular household broom with a passion!

One of the things I love about this product is the telescoping handle...you can adjust the handle length to the size that you need. The cloths are very easy to attach and remove from the sweeper/mop head and simply tuck into the little cut-out grooves.

I first started with my dry mopping (sweeping) so I used the dry cloth first. I took it into both bathrooms and did the floors and it did a fabulous job at picking up all that disgusting hair and dirt. When I was done...I couldn't get over how much hair & dirt it really picked up...OH MY GOSH...and I thought my floors looked clean before that! Geesh, I was missing a lot! Thank goodness I have this new Swiffer Sweeper!

After I was done in the bathrooms, I changed out the dry pad and put on a clean dry pad. I then started in my dining room, worked my way into the living room and finally ended up in the kitchen...all using this one pad! I love how this product is designed as I am able to get underneath the edges of furniture, tables, consoles, under chairs and all kinds of other places I normally couldn't reach.

Now it was time to mop...so I put the wet refill pad on and got busy! I first started in the kitchen, moved into the dining room & living room and finally finished up with the 2 bathrooms. Surprisingly...the wet pad stayed wet and was plenty moist for me to do all of those rooms on one pad! 

Gross & Disgusting Dirt!

My tiled floors and hardwood floors are all looking sparkling clean again and I love how easy it was to do! I didn't have to lug around a broom, dust pan, mop, bucket and all of that other nonsense to complete this cleaning task and using the Swiffer Sweeper & Mop made the job quick and easy! Yay!!!

This Swiffer Sweeper & Mop will always be in my cleaning arsenal of products from now on! It did a fabulous job cleaning all of my floors and I love that I just toss out the used pads and just purchase the refills when I need them. Finally, I love it's slim & compact design and the handle has a hanging hole so that you can hang it up on a hook for storage (mine hands in my cleaning closet) and takes up very little room!  Thanks Swiffer!!!

Best Way to Clean Ceiling Fans? The Swiffer 360 Duster!

I love a clean home and ever day I am cleaning something inside or outside my home. When it has come to cleaning the 3 ceiling fans in our home...it was always a struggle for me because I am only 5ft. 6" tall. Not only that, I had a total hip replacement back in April so dragging around a step stool or ladder to reach the high places is out of the question.

Recently I received a Swiffer 360 Duster and immediately fell in-love with it! A few days ago I blogged about how it's the best thing for cleaning mini blinds and today...I am going to tell you how I use it to clean my ceiling fans!

The Swiffer 360 Duster has a telescoping handle so I can adjust the length of the handle for whatever cleaning job I am tackling. Next, it has an adjustable angled head so you can adjust the head to whatever angle you need. Third, I love that I can purchase refills for my new Swiffer 360 Duster which saves me money...because I can use that same dusting head for many weeks before I have to change it.

When it came to dusting all of our ceiling fans I was able to telescope the handle out and reach the ceiling fan while standing on the ground...no step stool needed! I adjusted the dusting head at one angle to get above the fan blades and readjusted it the other direction to get underneath. This duster quickly gathered up the dust and cobwebs in quick, rapid fashion!

I loved that I was able to get inside those glass light globes and dust those out too! Each ceiling fan took me about 1 minute to clean and I was done and onto my next cleaning project. Wow, these Swiffer 360 Dusters just make cleaning so easy and they get the job done beautifully!

I have been using my new Swiffer 360 Duster all over my home and now I can't live without! Nope, you are going to find one of these products in my home all of the time! Over the next few weeks I will share with all of you all of the various ways I have been using it to clean my home.

Best Way to Clean Mini Blinds? Use the Swiffer 360 Duster

The Swiffer 360 Duster!

If you talked to anyone who has ever been in my home they would certainly tell you what a clean & neat freak that I am. That's right...I love to clean and I love to show off my home once it has been thoroughly cleaned! While most people are not fond of cleaning, I actually enjoy it!

A few weeks ago my husband finally got around to installing the new mini blinds into our new home. He spent the afternoon installing 8 of them in 3 different rooms. I love the clean & simple look and just purchased new window toppers to hang above them.

The following week I realized I didn't have a good plan in mind on how I was going to clean the mini blinds weekly because I do know that if you don't keep at them, they will collect dust & get ugly in a hurry...especially almond colored ones like the ones we purchased.

Well...I am hear to tell you all that my new favorite cleaning product is the Swiffer 360 Duster! Oh my gosh...I am in-love and can not believe that I didn't own one until now! That duster is the best thing to hit the cleaning world in a very long time!

I love that the handle is adjustable in length and in angle...I can get up really high and get it in-between all of those nasty mini blind slats. Each mini blind takes me less than 1 minute to clean and then I am onto the next one. Once I am done...I just hang it up and it's ready for the next time. When the current cleaning pad gets too dirty, I can dispose of it and attach one from my refill box. 

Over the next few weeks I will share with all of you the different ways I have been using my new Swiffer 360 Duster around my home...this weekend...I will be tackling the cleaning of our ceiling fans with it! Yay!!!

The Fabulous Grow Box for Container Gardening - My Update!

A few weeks ago I blogged here on my blog about the wonderful Grow Box that you can use for container gardening.You can find that blog post right here on my blog and I encourage you to check out that first post I made about the Grow Box.

Well, it has been 6 1/2 weeks since I planted two cherry tomato plants in my Grow Box and guess what? I got a slew of green cherry tomatoes that will be ripe and ready to pick in about 2 weeks. Not only that, I have been getting red ones here & there that hubby and I have already been picking and enjoying!

By using the Grow Box and planting our tomato plants in it in early April, our tomato plants are growing healthy and we got a head start on tomato growing season! Usually we don't start picking cherry tomatoes until late June so we are an entire month ahead of schedule which makes me extremely happy since I am a tomato lover!

I love my Grow Box so much that I plan on investing in several more of them come next Spring when I can get back to gardening like I usually do. (recovering right now from a total hip replacement, so my gardening is going to be limited this Summer).

Anyway, as you can see from my photo above, my two cherry tomato plants are doing extremely well. Make sure you check out my blog post from 6 1/2 weeks ago to see how far they have come. These Grow Boxes are the BEST THING for container gardening! LOVE THEM!

Container Gardening with The Garden Patch Grow Box



I love gardening and this year I am getting a head start on my gardening by planting a few things into a container box. The exact name of the product I am using is called The Garden Patch Grow Box and it's one of the most unique growing systems I have ever seen or used!

I received one of these gardening growing boxes as a review item for my other blog ~ The Two Classy Chics Blog, so you can head on over there to read my full review on this product and to see all of the photos.

The grow box took us less than 5 minutes to assemble and another 5 minutes to put our potting soil in, 2 tomato plants and to fill up the bottom well with fresh water. In less than 10 minutes, we were done and had 2 nice tomato plants growing inside our Garden Patch Grow Box!

In a few weeks, I will make another blog post here on my blog and show you photos of how my tomato plants are doing. I am really excited about getting this head start on my gardening this year. In about 2 weeks...our backyard garden will be going in too! Yay!

Installed the New Pocket Door Latch - Door Knob

Our home remodeling and home improvement projects are moving along nicely! My hubby is just about done with the 3/4 bathroom that he built and added onto the house. This bathroom features an eco-friendly low-flush new toilet, new pedestle sink and he built us a new super large 2-person shower with those fancy rain forest shower heads that come down from the ceiling. Super cool.

He needs to finish tiling some of the walls, paint them, hang the medicine cabinet, mirror and a few other minor things and that bathroom will finally be done. He has been working on it for 3 months!

Anyway, to save on space, he installed a pocket door as the entry door into the new 3/4 master bathroom. We needed a nickel finish pocket door latch with security lock and he got one from DoorCorner.com.

It took him about 20 minutes to cut a hole into the door and to install the new pocket door latch. It was one of the easiest things he had to do with this new bathroom that he built. We are super pleased with how the master bathroom is coming along and as soon as the entire bathroom has been completed, I will post before and after photos here on my blog.

Refinished Old Wooden Bar Stools - Flea Market Bargain!

A few weeks ago my husband and I went to our local flea market and found 6 solid wood bar stools that were in great shape! They needed refinished but other than that, solid and sturdy! We purchased each one for only $2.50 each! What a bargain! (photo above shows one stool not sanded yet, and one stool completely sanded).

We brought them home and used our electric palm sander to sand off the old wood stain and varnish. This took us about 5 minutes per stool. Once done, we dusted off the dust with a damp cloth and left them sit for an hour to dry from the dusting.

We then used Thompson's Water Seal Outdoor Wood Stain that comes in a spray can in a pretty golden pine color. We lightly sprayed the wooden stool and then used a soft cotton cloth to wipe off the excess stain. We only needed to apply one coat since we sanded off all of the old crud.

We sat our stools out in the hot sun to dry (90 degree day) so it only took an hour for them to dry. Wow, what an improvement! One can of the Thompson's Water Seal spray did 3 stools! It only took 2 cans to do all 6 of the stools we were refinishing.

We used their outdoor wood stain spray as we entertain a lot outdoors and wanted these stools for primarily outdoor use on our patio & deck. I think they turned out beautifully!

Onto our next home remodeling project!

Our New Rapid Reel Hose Reel and Garden Hose

As you all know, my hubby and I purchased a 60 year old home that we have been remodeling for the past 2 1/2 months. We are gutting the home, remodeling it and of course, modernizing it!

Well, we needed a new hose reel and a new garden hose so that we could work on our outside remodeling and landscaping projects. Today, I thought I would show you all what we got because....we absolutely LOVE them!

Our new hose reel is called the Rapid Hose Reel! While it more expensive than other hose reels we looked at, it is high-quality and worth every dime! It is super easy to install (we put ours on the back of our house) and is really easy to use. We love that hose reel!

The new garden hose we got is a 50 foot Tuff-Guard Garden Hose and it is the best garden hose we have ever owned! It is super light-weight and it's a kink-free hose! Other hoses we have owned in the past don't even come close to how nice this hose is!

We highly recommend both of these products to folks who are looking for a new hose reel and/or a new garden hose! We love them!

Best Product for Cleaning Aluminum Siding

Every week I will be updating my blog readers on some of the home remodeling projects that we have been doing. If you recall, hubby and I purchased a 60 year old home about 2 1/2 years ago that we are gutting & remodeling. We are hoping to move into our home come September of this year.

The home has it's original ugly white aluminum siding on it that is 60 years old. It's in fabulous shape but pretty dirty and stained up from over the years. Instead of replacing the siding, we have decided to paint it a pretty khaki color (the color of beach sand but a tad darker). Once that is done, our trim and shutters will be painted a medium shade of olive green.

We needed to get the siding cleaned up as the painters will be coming in a few weeks to pain the house. We tried a few products on the siding which didn't do a good job at all. Our siding has mold & mildew spots, algae spots, brown & black spots from something, etc. These spots and areas go around most of the house...not to mention, it was filthy dirty.

The great folks over at Krud Kutter supplied us with a starter kit of their product which included a ready-to-use spray bottle of Krud Kutter and a large concentrated bottle of Krud Kutter that we can mix with water to make more of the product.
Hubby first lightly misted the siding with the water hose and then sprayed the Krud Kutter on the siding. Within seconds the stains and dirt started running down the sides of the siding! yeah! This is a non-toxic product that doesn't smell and it works super quickly. A few areas he did need to use a soft sponge with some elbow grease to get them clean...but overall, the Krud Kutter did the majority of the work.
Hubby did this around 3 sides of our house (he still needs to the back side) and sprayed and rinsed in sections as he went along. As you can see from our photos, you can definitely see nice white & clean aluminum siding again! yeah!!! This product rocks!!!

If you need to clean your siding for whatever reason, we highly suggest that you give Krud Kutter a try. We love it and will be using it for all kinds of things around our house! Thanks Krud Kutter for making a fantastic non-toxic cleaning product!

Our New Rapid Reel Garden Hose Reel

My husband was a very busy beaver today and he spent quite a bit of time over at the house earlier today. (around 6 hours of time!). We have been slowly making some big and small home improvements to the house and some day, we will be moving into it. Right now, we have been renting out our house to my great auntie who is taking great care of it.

Today my hubby spent 3 hours mowing the front and back yards and using the weed whacker to get rid of the weeds. Oh my gosh, what a job that is since we have a big yard! After he was done with that he trimmed and pruned some of our bushes and finally got around to installing our brand new Rapid Reel Garden Hose Reel that we are reviewing for the Two Classy Chics review and giveaway blog. You will be able to see and read our full review on this product once we publish it on May 4th.

Next week we will be planting some new flowering bushes and some new flowers around the property and I am really looking forward to that. In 2 weeks will be starting our vegetable garden and as the season goes along, I will be blogging our garden progress.
