Pennsylvania Fall Foliage

It is amazing at how quickly the autumn season is flying by. Halloween is just around the corner and Thanksgiving follows shortly thereafter. While I do enjoy the Fall season, I really dislike what is coming after it...WINTER!

Anyway, for my "almost" Wordless Wednesday post this week I wanted to share a photo with all of you of one that I took this past weekend while hubby and I were on a road trip. It features some of the gorgeous Pennsylvania Fall Foliage that we recently saw on a road trip up to State College.

If you have never visited the State College area or the Centre Hall area in Pennsylvania, we highly recommend it...especially during the Autumn season when all of the trees & leaves are changing color. You can really see some beautiful scenery while traveling through the area.

The photo was taken about 15 minutes outside of Boalsburg where several mountain ridges come together. We were down in the valley and I shot the photo while looking up. I love all of the pretty burgundy, yellow, orange, gold and green trees in that particular area. Luckily for us...we were visiting during the peak season!

Well, there you have it! Another "almost" Wordless Wednesday photo for this week! Next week I will share some additional photos that are really fantastic! Enjoy!

Late Fall Foliage Photos from the Susquehanna Valley

Hubby and I took a road trip up to State College in Pennsylvania last weekend and got to see some of the pretty Fall foliage that the Susquehanna Valley has to offer. Next year we are going to take the same road trip but go 2 to 3 weeks earlier so we can see the Fall foliage at peak time. This year we were a little late on seeing it but still...it was a beautiful drive.

We took route 322/22 from Harrisburg up to State College which is a beautiful drive (except during the winter where you have to deal with snow and ice). Taking this route will take you through many of our beautiful mountains and valleys, as well as through several small towns. You can easily do a round trip on a 1/2 tank of gas which is really nice.
If you take this little day trip make sure you take a good look out your car window right before you hit Dauphin, PA. on 322/22 so that you can grab a quick peek at the Statue of Liberty that sits out in the middle of the Susquehanna River on an old stone column leftover from an old stone bridge. Yup, that is her above and trust me, she stands 25 feet tall (she looks small in the photo).

Hubby and I took our road trip on a Sunday and we specifically picked that day because trucker traffic on route 322/22 is a LOT less on weekends, especially on Sunday. We wanted to take our good old time and stop off the road to take in the scenery in several places along the route. You can click on the photos in this blog post to enlarge them to see better details.
If you love looking at mountains and beautiful Fall foliage then Pennsylvania is one state you need to consider for a road trip every Fall. If you would like to learn more about traveling in Pennsylvania, I would like for you to visit my travel blog called Pennsylvania and Beyond. You will find 100's of travel photos, articles and blog posts for seeing many of the travel destinations that Pennsylvania has to offer. If you have any Pennsylvania travel questions, please free to leave me a comment on this blog or on my official travel blog. Enjoy!

Early Fall Foliage in Central Pennsylvania

I went out earlier today for a walk through my neighborhood with the gals from my Mommies Walking Group. Today we went on a 1 1/2 mile walk and as we were walking around the neighborhood getting our exercise we noticed how pretty the trees are starting to get.
Fall is definitely here in Pennsylvania although we hit a high temperature of 85 degrees today. I wish October was always like that for us up here in the North East but sadly it's not and the cold temperatures are coming. Many people around here are calling this our "2013 Indian Summer" and I believe they are right. All week long we have been in the upper 70's and lower 80's and it has felt great!

I am not a fan of late Fall weather and Winter weather so I have been trying to hold on to the warmer sunshine filled days of late Summer and early Fall. I do have to admit though...I love looking at the trees as their leaves change to orange, yellow and bright red. Soon though those leaves will all drop, the trees will get naked (hate seeing naked trees) and winter will be here!
In two weeks I will get some new photos and really show you how beautiful our trees get once the Fall foliage really kicks into high gear. We are about 2 weeks into it now and in another 2 weeks it will be a pretty awesome display of nature. Enjoy!!!

Our Annual Family Trip to Wildwood NJ

Every year we go down to Wildwood New Jersey during the month of September and during this particular trip we decided to take the family down with us. We took my mother, my daughter, her fiance, my grand daughter and then hubby and myself were all along for the adventure.

We love the north Wildwood area and it's our favorite area on the Wildwood island. If you are ever visiting the area, I highly recommend that you talk a walk up to the Hereford Inlet Lighthouse and walk behind it and up onto the sea wall.

Once on the sea wall you will get some spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean, the Inlet and the surrounding areas. In my opinion, this is the prettiest part of the entire Wildwood island and a MUST SEE when visiting. You will find a beautiful white sandy beach, lots of sand dunes and sea grass and if you are really lucky...you will see a few dolphins swimming by. This is where we usually see them swimming when we visit.
There are a lot of things to see and do while visiting Wildwood New Jersey like a day trip to the Cape May County Zoo, a hike at the Nature Conservancy down in Cape May, tour the Hereford Inlet Lighthouse & the Cape May Lighthouse, check out the World War II Lookout Tower & Bunker on the Beach in Cape May and of course make sure you have some amusement ride fun on Morey's Pier.

We are hoping to head back down there in late October for one last visit before the weather here in PA gets really cold and the winter weather moves in. But if not...we will be back down again come May 2014. Yay!

Beautiful Views of the Atlantic Ocean in Wildwood NJ

We were on vacation all of last week and had a wonderful time down at the Jersey Shore....more specifically, in Wildwood New Jersey. We go down to North Wildwood several times every year and just LOVE that area! While the rest of the Wildwood island is pretty, our favorite spots are in North Wildwood.

We love to go onto the beach right behind the Hereford Inlet Lighthouse and if you ask me, that is where you get the best views of the Atlantic Ocean. If you love watching sunrises, this is also the best place to catch those while visiting the Wildwood area.

The beach here is pure white...wide and beautiful! You will find a lot of sand dunes, sea grass and if you are a beach comber, you can pick up some seashells too! One of the things I love about this particular area is that you can see the Inlet, a sand dune and then the Atlantic Ocean behind it, as my photo above shows!

You can click on the photo to enlarge it to see the pretty details. If you look really close, you can see some sea gulls on the edge of the water too! We sat on the beach for awhile that day and then got up onto the sea wall and sat on a wooden bench. The ocean & beach views behind the Hereford Inlet Lighthouse are some of the best on the entire Wildwood island.

Well there you have it! My "almost" Wordless Wednesday post for this week. Over the next couple of weeks, I will be sharing some additional photos from our vacation. Enjoy!

Pennsylvania Winters....Suck!

I have been living in Pennsylvania full time since 1984 and let me tell you...even after all of this time, I am still not used to nor am I fond of....the long Pennsylvania winters. Nope, I am not a fan of snow, ice, freezing rain and the bitter cold!

My type of winter weather is the type of weather you find in Southern Florida, Southern California or better yet, Arizona. The cold weather here in PA....does nothing for me, NOTHING!

We had a very mild weather week last week and it was nice having temps in the 50's for most of the week. With that said, old man winter is back this week and hammered us with freezing rain, ice and snow mixed into it. We had a royal mess to deal with late last night and early this morning. ugh!

We are halfway through the month of January and already...I am counting down the days until Spring arrives. I hate being cooped up indoors during the wintertime and right now, I am definitely getting the heebie jeebies to be outside again in the warm weather and sunshine.

Bring on Spring!!!

The Beach in Wildwood NJ :: Almost Wordless Wednesday

My "Almost Wordless Wednesday" post for today is a photo of me standing on the beach in North Wildwood New Jersey. I chose to share that photo today because in exactly one month, I will be down in North Wildwood enjoying my final one week vacation for this year!

I have been to a LOT of beaches up and down the eastern seaboard but the beach in North Wildwood (not Wildwood) is my absolute FAVORITE beach on the east coast! I love that it's a big, wide, sandy beach and it's free! Not only that, it's super clean and very roomy!

I can walk right out our condo and within 2 minutes be standing on the warm, soft sand. I am a total beach lover and I look forward to us moving down to North Wildwood once we retire.

Have any of you ever been to North Wildwood yet? If not, you really should check it out! We love it there!

I love the beaches in North Wildwood New Jersey

I am counting down the days, only one more month to go until I am sitting on my favorite beach in North Wildwood, New Jersey. Every year hubby and I look forward to hitting the beach in Wildwood when we go down to our condo.

We both work extremely hard and don't get as much time off from work as we used to, so we only get to go down to the condo about 5-6 times a year. *sigh* I really need to do something about that!

Anyway, in less than a month we will be down at our favorite beach and doing some R&R and hopefully, having some fun! I really need this R&R break and it can't get here soon enough! I hope that we have nice hot weather with plenty of sunshine as weather in early June can be a little tricky down there.

Some starting today, a red X will be placed onto my calendar to count off the days until vacation time. Yeah!!!!

I LOVE the Jersey Shore!!!

Hubby and I just got back from a mini vacation down to the Jersey Shore...North Wildwood to be exact! We got down a few times every year and this time we were surprised at how gorgeous the weather was for the middle of October! It was so nice and warm that I even got to walk the beach in my bare feet!

ahhhh...looking forward to spring as I hate winter so that come springtime my butt will be back down on the beach! I just love visiting the Jersey Shore and looking forward to retirement when we will move down there to stay!

Travel Tips | Packing Checklist For Busy Last Minute Vacation Travelers

Are you the type of "packer" that starts your packing for a trip or vacation days in advance or do you start your packing at the last minute? Personally...I start 2 weeks in advance as I like to be organized and I like to make sure I pack everything I think we "might" need.

Often times when I speak to others about their packing habits many people tell me they are last minute packers and usually start the day before! Many of these folks just take things out of their drawers and closets and throw them into a suitcase and out the door they go. The bad thing about this is that when you arrive at your destination your items in your suitcase are a wrinkled mess and/or you realize you forgot to pack some important things that you need. Then you have to scour an unfamiliar area to purchase the items you forgot or you have to pay a laundering or hotel service to wash, dry and iron your clothing.

To solve all of those problems I sat down a few years ago and drafted up my own vacation checklist of items that we will always need when we travel. Then approximately 2 weeks before our departure time I get that list out and start our packing. If need be, I head to the store to pick up items that I need to replace or "might" need while we are traveling.

Here is an example of our Travel Packing List:

___ Seasonal Clothing for ___ amount of days.
___ Non-Seasonal Clothing for 1 day. (just incase the weather changes).
___ Outerwear (coats, jackets, sweaters, hats, gloves, scarves...depending on destination).
___ Two Pairs of Shoes Per Person
___ Haircare Items (blow dryers, curling irons, shampoo, conditioner, etc.)
___ Toiletries (soap, shower gels, shaving gel, razors, face wash, deoderant, dental care, etc.)
___ Prescription Medications and Over the Counter Medications
___ Eyecare (glasses, contacts, solutions, sunglasses, etc.)
___ Rainy Day Activities For Adults (hand-held electronic games, puzzle books, reading books, games)
___ Kid's Activity Bag (games, toys, arts & crafts supplies, books, etc.)
___ Linens (if appropriate, pillows, beach towels, bath towels, bed linens, etc.)
___ Snacks and Beverages for the Family.
___ Empty Tote Bags, 1 Empty Duffle Bag, 1 Empty Wet/Dry Bag (these can be used to bring wet clothing/towels home or to carry souvenirs back home).
___ Traveling Essentials (passports, hotel reservations, airline tickets, documents, maps, etc.)
___ Equipment (any equipment needed for activities)
___ Miscellaneous Supplies (mending kit, first-aid kit, extra money, etc.)
___ Other ___________________________________________
___ Other ___________________________________________
___ Other ___________________________________________

You can tailor my above list to suit your own family's needs or according to your vacation/trip destination.

Getting yourself organized and starting your packing 2 weeks in advance saves you a lot of time, stress and money once you arrive at your vacation destination. Prepare your packing ahead of time and enjoy your family's vacation time together.

Fabulous Vacation to North Wildwood NJ

Hubby and I took a much needed 1 week vacation down to North Wildwood, New Jersey and had a fabulous time! We walked the beach twice a day so I could collect shells for my flower garden at home, we ate out almost every day and dined on fine food...especially seafood and steaks! We took a drive down to Cape May and did some shopping and toured some Victorian Homes.

We had a fabulous time shopping the boardwalk in Wildwood and rode bikes one beautiful morning. We got to be lazy and hang out at the pool and went to play mini golf one afternoon.

It felt so good to get out of dodge for a week and just relax and be lazy! We are looking forward to going back next month for hubby's 50th birthday. Below you will find a few photos from vacation.

I will post a lot more pics over the coming weeks of the lighthouses we toured, mini golf, bike riding and other fun things we got to do while on vacation!

In Honor of National Coupon Month: 30 Place to Find Coupons

** Image is Courtesy of FreeImages.com **

In celebration of National Coupon Month this September, ILoveCouponMonth.com--an online source for coupon information, statistics and savings tips created by CouponSherpa.com --shares 30 tried and true, plus some unexpected, places to find coupons for a month-long of savings.

Founded by the Performance Marketing Association in September 1998, National Coupon Month recognizes the impact coupons have had on consumer buying habits. Happily, coupons have become even more pervasive since 1998 and are now available just about everywhere you look, whether it be via the Internet, social media, smartphone or bank statements.

In fact, such digital coupons are galloping to the fore. According to research released June 1 by eMarketer, 88.2 million consumers will use digital coupons as an important part of their shopping experience in 2011. That's 47 percent of adult Internet users, a statistic that's destined to rise in the near future. The study also revealed 92.5 million adult Internet users will use online coupons in 2012, versus 96.8 million in 2013.

Wether you are new to the coupon game or a skilled clipper, ILoveCouponMonth.com is the ultimate destination for coupon-lovers featuring data, 30 days of savings tips, and much more. Helping shoppers save even more money during National Coupon Month, here are 30 places to find coupons for 30 days of bargains.

1. Coupon-Aggregate WebsitesForget all that clipping and sifting through newspapers; online coupons make the hunt-and-peck method a thing of the past. Coupon-aggregate websites allow shoppers to pinpoint the coupons they need and either use the coupon codes to save online or download printable coupons for shopping at brick-and-mortar stores.

2. Smartphone AppsMore than one in four mobile users in the U.S. own a smartphone, which makes coupon applications amazingly handy. For example, the free CouponSherpa.com app that offers mobile coupons is perfect for I Love Coupon Month as it actually allows you to search for coupons while shopping. The coupon is then displayed as either a scannable image or numeric code that the cashier can enter at the register. You receive an immediate discount. The app also features grocery coupons. Type in your ZIP code to find a supermarket in the area, save desired grocery coupons from your phone to their loyalty card, and enjoy instant savings when their card is swiped at checkout.

3. Social MediaFacebook, Twitter, even YouTube provide links to coupons from just about every merchant and service you've heard of. Need a new dress? Visit your favorite retailer's Facebook page and print out a coupon. Heading to the grocery store? Check their Twitter feed for coupon links. Lastly, look for coupon bloggers who create instructional videos on YouTube that include similar links.

4. Daily Deal ServicesBy now, nearly everyone has heard about daily deal services, the largest of which are Groupon and Living Social. The success of these two behemoths has led to major clonage, including many companies focusing on specific regions or cities. Here's how it works: You register with the site and receive daily emails detailing major savings for various services and merchants. If you're interested, just click on the deal, pay and download the attached coupon.

5. Direct Mail PacketsDirect mail packets are envelopes stuffed with paper coupons and delivered to your mailbox. The most popular and steadily growing version comes from Valpak, delivered in light-blue envelopes roughly once per month.

6. Bank Statements BillShrink works with 2,000 banks to analyze consumer spending habits and provide coupons implanted in your bank statements above certain purchases. In essence, this method allows retailers to target coupons specific to your likes and needs, instead of requiring customers do the research.

7. Coupon TrainsTrains are a simple way for enthusiasts to exchange coupons through the mail. Every train is different, but the rules are basically the same. An envelope of 40 to 200 coupons is mailed from the "conductor" to the first person on the train list. That person removes the coupons they want, replaces them with those of equal value and number, then mails the envelope on to the next member. Many such trains are now sponsored by mommy bloggers.

8. Loyalty Card CouponsMost major supermarket chains allow shoppers to upload coupons from their websites to loyalty cards. The trick is to remember which coupons you've actually loaded so you don't forget or buy the wrong product. This marketing method is beginning to cross over to other companies. For example, Shell gas stations offer fuel discounts for repeat customers with rewards cards.

9. Manufacturers' WebsitesWanting to get a cut of the action, manufacturers began offering their own online coupons, some of which are printable coupons you can use in their stores. Others offer coupon codes for online purchases. The variety of coupons available may surprise you. Everyone from furniture to health-food manufacturers have gotten in on the game. For example, Lane Recliners recently advertised a $100 coupon usable with a minimum purchase of just $499.

10. Emailed NewslettersSign up for email newsletters offered on merchant websites and many will regularly send out coupons. If you plan on registering for a bunch of these newsletters, you might want to create a separate email account so your personal inbox isn't overwhelmed.

11. eBayThe online-auction site devotes an entire section to coupons, many of which are sold via the "Buy It Now" status. This means you can purchase the advertised coupon immediately without waiting for the auction to expire. The day I checked there were more than 81,000 coupons on offer.

12. PayPalBased on a subscriber's previous purchases, PayPal provides coupons specific to your needs.

13. Newspaper InsertsThe original source for coupons, newspaper inserts are still the number-one place to find print coupons. You can add to your collection without multiple subscriptions by asking friends and family to pass on inserts they don't use.

14. Online Store CircularsSubscribing to a newspaper for the circulars is still the number one way to find coupons, but many merchants now post these sale flyers directly on their websites, allowing you to download coupons or access the coupon codes.

15. Cellfire.comAnother coupon aggregate site, Cellfire.com allows you to download coupons directly to your grocery loyalty card. The cashier then swipes the card at checkout and "poof," instant savings. The service is available for over 3,500 grocery stores across the country. Signing up for a free membership entitles you to additional savings and services.

16. MagazinesCoupons are one of the best way advertisers can gain attention amidst a deluge of ads in magazines. Check out medical waiting rooms for extra copies, but ask before you tear.

17. Entertainment BooksFor nearly 50 years, Entertainment has helped schools and other non-profits raise funds by selling these bound coupon booklets. You'll pay anywhere from $5 to $25 for a ton of coupons in such categories as dining, shopping, movie tickets, groceries, services, travel, attractions, car care, and home furnishings. You can also buy Entertainment Books directly from its website.

18. Recycling BinsAsk friends, neighbors, family members and stores if you can dig through their recycling bins for unused coupons. Be careful about hitting commercially owned bins, however, as some cities have laws against this practice.

19. Phone BooksPhone books may be the equivalent of print dinosaurs, but most include a coupon section for local businesses either in the middle or at the back.

20. Junk MailPostal carriers hate these loose flyers because they're hard to deliver, but junk mail promotions are a good source for coupons. Some replicate newspaper-insert content while others offer entirely different coupons.

21. Free SamplesManufacturers offering free samples through the mail usually include a coupon or two as a means of enticing you into purchasing their goods. This is pretty cool because you can actually try the product before buying.

22. Coupon Clipping ServicesYou'll pay a nominal fee for coupons from these services, but you can register to receive coupons in specific categories or for preferred manufacturers and stores.

23. Hangtag CouponsMost often found on wines and bottled products, hangtag coupons, naturally, hang off the neck of the bottles.

24. Coupon ForumsWhether your a newbie or an extreme couponer, these forums are a great way to learn about special deals and coupon links. Member discussions keep you informed about the best and worst coupons while offering tips for use.

25. With Your Grocery ReceiptKnown as Catalinas, these coupons are usually keyed to your purchase that day or, if you use a loyalty card, previous purchases.

26. Supermarket Tear PadsTear-pad coupons usually hang out next to a product in grocery stores. As the name suggests, you simply tear off the coupon you need and turn it in at checkout. Don't be greedy, however. Leave some behind for other shoppers.

27. Restaurant Recipe Tear PadsSearch the checkout station at restaurants for tear pads with recipes and attached coupons. You might also ask your server if they offer coupons. Some take-out menus also include coupons.

28. BlinkiesBlinkies are coupons distributed in stores by SmartSource Coupon Machines. The nickname refers to the machines blinking light, designed to catch your attention. SmartSource typically changes the coupons every month and the offers vary between regions and stores. Some blinkies actually "talk," which is incredibly irritating in already noisy stores.

29. Loyalty CardsMany supermarket chains allow shoppers to upload coupons from their websites to your loyalty card. The trick is to remember which coupons you've actually loaded so you don't buy the wrong products. This promotional method is beginning to cross over to other merchants. For example, Shell gas stations offer fuel discounts for repeat customers.

30. Inside Product PackagingLook inside your cereal boxes, can labels, etc. for hidden coupons. If you're lucky, the manufacturer has advertised the coupon's existence on the front of the package.

Are you heading out soon on a road trip or family vacation and taking the kids along? If so, you will want to plan ahead and pack up several things that will keep the kids busy and keep them comfortable while you are traveling. How much you take along with you will depend on the number of children traveling with you and how long you will be traveling by car as children will need a nice variety of things to do so that they don't get too bored.

Vacations Down To The Jersey Shore

Ever since I was a little girl....my family always got together during the summer months and took vacations together down to the Jersey Shore...most of the time it was to Ocean City NJ. There were times that we went Ocean City MD or to other beaches but we always came back to Ocean City NJ.

My grandparents, parents and now myself as a parent to this day continue the tradition and take yearly trips down to the beach. The only thing that has changed is that my hubby and I started our own family tradition about 12 years ago and we go to North Wildwood NJ...which is our favorite Jersey Shore destination.

North Wildwood has their own lighthouse aka Hereford Inlet Lighthouse, the Cape May Zoo is about 10 minutes away. Ocean City NJ is about a 20 minute drive and Atlantic City is about a 35-40 minute drive. We also love taking a day trip down to Cape May which is only a 10 minute drive. As you can see...Northwild is in the middle of it all!

We always stay at one of our two favorite places...the Trylon or the Aloha because they are both ocean front and located in a great location (away from the main action) so it's a lot more peaceful during in-season.

I am looking forward to hitting the Wildwood Beach again just a few short weeks! A vacation well needed for me and my family.

Mini Weekend Trip to Lancaster PA

My hubby has worked like a dog all of last week (over 33+ hours of OT) and was just feeling stressed out and exhausted. On top of that, he has a bad sinus infection. Anyway...I have now been home from the hospital for 3 weeks and we haven't spent any good quality time together.

The bee came home at lunchtime on Friday and surprised me with a little mini weekend getaway to Lancaster Amish Country. Back in the late 80's we had lived in Lancaster, PA for 2 years and since then, we like to travel down to Lancaster once or twice a year to visit.

So...we headed out the door around lunch time on Saturday and got into Lancaster about 45 minutes later. After checking in to our hotel...we hit the Tanger and Rockvale Square Outlet Malls and did some shopping. I am happy to report, I got a lot of fabulous deals!

After that...we went out to dinner and then back to the hotel. Since we were both exhausted and not feeling well, we both were in bed and sleeping by 11pm LOL

It was nice to get away...even if it was only for one night. I am looking forward to our vacation to the Jersey Shore in June and in August...now the count down begins!

My Love For Lighthouses!!!

Since I was a small child (around age 5 or so)...we always took several trips every summer season down to the Jersey Shore for our family vacations. These were special trips because my mom was a single mom and we had to scrimp and save to afford these little vacations.

Every year...my brother and I would count down the days until we were at the shore again. Matter of fact, 90% of my pleasant childhood memories happened at the shore.

Over the years...I grew to love lighthouses...just absolutely love them! I am fortunate that my hubby of 24 years also loves lighthouses so we spend a lot of our traveling time visiting various lighthouses.

It seems like every year for my birthday, mothers day, christmas etc...my friends and family give me gifts that consist of lighthouses...I bet I own around 200 various lighthouses!

Nautical Lighthouse Cross Stitch Picture

This is a piece I did last month for a customer. It is done in counted cross stitch and features a lighthouse, sail boat, coastline and water. I was very pleased at how this one turned out. I used DMC floss for all cross stitching.

It is framed and matted in a 8x10" wooden frame and signed and dated by me. I have to make 2 more of them within the next few weeks as everyone loves this design.

Just got back from vacation...

We just spent a week down at the Jersey Shore....half of our vacation was just me (Shelly) with my hubby (The Bee) and my mum....the other half of our vacation our daughter J and Baby G joined us...so it was a nice family vacation in North Wildwood NJ.

The weather was terrible for most of our vacation as a lower pressure system storm came up the coast and then parked itself right on top of us for 4.5 days. We suffered with 5" of rain and winds of 40+ mph for 3 days. Talk about bad hair days! I ventured out one evening to just go sit on the beach and look at the angry ocean. Trust me...it was pretty upset and the waves were crashing to the shore.

We always stay at our favorite hotel...its beachfront in North Wildwood NJ. We have been going to the same place for 10 years and stay in the same room. Our room is like a condo...kitchen, dining room, living room, large bedroom and a bathroom. It comfortably sleeps 6 adults. Our dining room wall is all tinted glass and faces the ocean. The hotel has a large heated pool, sundeck that faces south, a game room and a coffee shop.

On our second day at the beach, I got up early (6am) just so I could enjoy this beautiful sunrise, I love watching the sun come up over the Atlantic Ocean.

Can ya believe we are at the beach and all dressed in heavy fall clothing? Oh my, the wind was strong, you definately had a bad hair day and the sand pellets stung your face. I was not too impressed with having to wash my hair 3 times a day to get the sand out as every time I went outside, I got blasted by blowing sand. We decided to hop onto the sea wall and grab a quick family pic in the high winds!

Another day, my mom and I ventured out into the light rain and took a walk down the beach. We decided to be silly and try out the lifeguard's chair :) Okay...where is the hunky lifeguard you might ask? LOL We don't know!

In a few days I will post some more pictures of our vacation. Even though the weather was terrible, we did have a great time.
